Phillip Thomas, popularly known as Rasta Phil, is a Trinidad and Tobago–born music visionary recognized for his influential role in the music industry during the 1980s and 1990s. Born on August 2, 1962, he became known as a mentor, co-producer, and spiritual guide to several iconic artists of the era.
After moving to Massachusetts at 17, he rose to prominence as DJ Phil, helping shape the Boston music scene while contributing to the development of artists connected to New Edition, New Kids on the Block, and Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.
Rasta Phil later expanded into film and television, appearing in projects such as Wahlburgers, Spenser Confidential, and Wahl Street, and continues to be involved in creative and production ventures today.
